Dr. Suhail S. Mati is a board-certified implantologist and general dentist with more than two decades of experience in comprehensive dentistry and oral implantology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID) and an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), with extensive advanced education in surgical, restorative, and comprehensive implant dentistry.
Through these roles, Dr. Mati has contributed to organized implant dentistry, professional education, communication, and leadership development within the profession.
Dr. Mati has been actively involved in dental education throughout his career. He previously served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and has lectured for dentists through study clubs, continuing education programs, webinars, and professional meetings.
He has authored two Clinical Bite articles for AAID News, sharing clinical perspectives and developments in contemporary implant dentistry. Dr. Mati is also the Founder of the Advanced Implant Study Club in Michigan, an educational organization dedicated to providing continuing education and advanced implant dentistry training for dentists. The study club brings clinicians together to discuss contemporary implant techniques, surgical and restorative concepts, emerging technology, treatment planning, and evidence-based approaches to patient care.
Dr. Mati is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Comprehensive Oral Implantology at Jacksonville University, with anticipated graduation in 2027. His graduate research interests include implant biomaterials, ceramic and zirconia implants, peri-implant disease, implant risk assessment, systemic biomarkers, salivary diagnostics, and evidence-based strategies designed to improve implant treatment outcomes.
Dr. Mati is the founder and owner of dental practices in Bingham Farms and West Bloomfield, Michigan, where his clinical practice focuses heavily on implant and comprehensive dentistry.

Dr. Mati has been deeply involved in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry for many years.
He progressed through the leadership positions of the AAID Central District, serving as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, President-Elect, and ultimately President of the AAID Central District from 2019–2020.
Following his presidency, he continued serving the organization as a Trustee representing the Central District, a member of the AAID Executive Committee, and later as a member and Chair of the AAID Communications Committee.
His involvement in organized implant dentistry reflects his commitment not only to treating patients, but also to advancing the profession and helping educate other dentists.
Dr. Mati previously served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and continues to lecture and provide continuing education in implant dentistry.
He has published clinical articles in AAID News, including contributions to its Clinical Bite series, and has presented on implant dentistry, treatment planning, risk reduction, and emerging clinical techniques.
He is also the Founder of the Advanced Implant Study Club in Michigan, where dentists come together for continuing education, clinical discussion, and advanced training in implant dentistry.
Dr. Mati believes that exceptional patient care requires lifelong learning.
He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Comprehensive Oral Implantology at Jacksonville University, with expected graduation in 2027.
His current academic interests include ceramic and zirconia implants, peri-implant disease, implant biomaterials, systemic and oral risk factors, salivary diagnostics, and strategies designed to improve the long-term success of dental implants.
At his practices in West Bloomfield and Bingham Farms, Michigan, Dr. Mati provides comprehensive dental care with a particular focus on complex implant dentistry.
